Config info for Using and Dialing up to Dis.org

    Dialup numbers:	510-849-2314, 510-843-0314, 510-843-0315
			510-843-0557, 510-843-0558, 510-843-0559

			All modems are 33.6 USR Sportsters

			Note that the dialup number are on a rotary
			thus when you call one you will automaticly be
			forwarded to the first open phone line

			If, for some reason the modem pool becomes disabled,
			you will be contacted with a temporary ``EHD''
			(emergency holographic dialup).


    ISDN numbers:	ISDN has been discontinued

    pop/snmp server:	mail.dis.org		[216.240.45.60]

			To access your email you have to use a apop
			compatable email client.
			(note that the server is accessible from
			outside the domain, thus you do not
			have to be "dialed up" on a Dis.Org line
			to access your email)
			To use APOP with eudora you have to go to
			the menu Options->Check Mail, then at the bottom
			of the dialog box select apop

    shell access:	shell.dis.org

			There are several shell account servers avaliable:

    Note to PPP users:  Your system is not behind a firewall, thus you
			should do your best to protect yourself and
			your system.  It is *STRONGLY* recommended you
			disable NetBIOS on you external interface.

    For those with shell access:
			Your login shell account is located on the
			system known as kizmiaz.dis.org [206.14.78.160]

			s/key or ssh is *required* to login on the system.
			(SSH can be obtained from http://www.cs.hut.fi/ssh/)

			s/key pads are generated and issued by Cyber
			or Shipley, then snail-mailed or faxed to you.

			You can can change your local password with from
			the shell with command ``passwd -l''.

			You can can change your pop password with from
			the shell with command ``popauth''.


    WWW page:           If you requested a WWW page space it would be
			located at /html/docs/www.dis.org/<username>

			eg: account billy's web space will be located at:

			    /html/docs/www.dis.org/billy

			the URL for this location is http://www.dis.org/billy

			If you have shell access, and want to set up
			a WWW page, email cyber *and* shipley and
			request it.

			There are no real limits to the size of your WWW
			pages, Although abuse of there service will
			result in you account being tared and truncated.


    Usage:		Unless prior arrangements are made, you are requested
			not to "camp" on the lines.  Punishment for doing
			so depends of if Shipley and Cyber are have a good
			day and if they are hung over.
